ADDICTED TO THE SCREEN: COMPUTER RISKS + DANGERS

Hello we are Marina and Sara and we are going to tell you about computer risks and dangers.

First of all, we will show you two lists, one positive and the other negative things about computers:

POSITIVE

• You can learn about technology
• All is very easy with computers
• You can get a lot of information
  very quickly with Google,
  Wikipedia, etc.
• You can organise holidays, hotels
• You can listen to music
• You can play games
• You can buy almost anything
  on internet.

NEGATIVE

• You lose study time
• It's bad for posture
• It's bad for eyes
• It's bad for headaches
• You forget how to spell
• You forget how to write
• Lose human contact
• Security risks- Credit card robbory, Paedophiles
• Facebook is dangerous- You can never eliminate any photo or comment.

Actually teenagers are the most addicted to technology especially with computers because from a very young age they are introduced with it.

There are a lot of social networks but the most important are Facebook and Twitter.

Facebook → It's the first social network. His creator is Mark Zuckerberg. In Facebook you can talk with friends and meet new people. You can add photos, videos and you can play games too.

We think that Facebook is addictive because once you start with conversation and friends, you always want to be involved.

Twitter → It's very popular especially because all the famous people have it.

Singers, models, football players tell their day by day in Twitter.

In Twitter you can do the same things that Facebook but at the moment Twitter is more popular because you can put hashtags and you can meet more people and get more information about people.

MySpace → MySpace was founded in 2003 by Chris DeWolfe and Tom Anderson.
When you were Myspace member, you can create your own profile, then you invite to your friends and you can find friends on MySpace. This people are converted part of you "Friend Space" or space for friends home.

Google + → Google+ is the social integration of all Google products. The design and management of privacy has been careful not to have errors. Regarding the success or failure of this network is too early to say. However, do not forget that the information and conversation are now in open platforms like Twitter.

In conclusion, We think that there are a lot of risks with the computer because however now we would find life impossible without computers and technology!

JOHN GALLIANO FIRED FROM DIOR

The famous fashion label Dior fired John Galliano as he was found to be racist , liking messages like "I love Hitler" The philosophy of the brand Dior is completely against these types of discriminations.

 I understand why Dior is angry but in my personal opinion I think the most important is the designs of the designor, not his personal beliefs.

Blake Lively was made famous by the hit TV series Gossip Girl.

SNOOKI IS MOM!

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, famous for the reality show Jersey Shore, was new mother of a child, Lorenzo.

EMA 2012

On November 11, held in Frankfurt, the EMA (Europe Music Awards) were presented by Heidi Klum (Supermodel)

The theme of the awards was the circus, the scenery was beautiful!

During the night there were many performances by international artists such as Pitbull, PSY, The Killers, Alicia Keys, Carly Rae Jepsen, Taylor Swift, Fun, etc.

There were also special guests, such as the stars of Geordie Shore, Shore Gandía, Louis Roe and Lana del Rey.

MY PERFECT HOLLIDAY

I would like to travel around the world but especially I would like to travel in the USA and do route 66. I think it's the best way to visit the country.

First of all, I want to go to New York and visit the statue of  liberty, the zero zone, Empire state building, Manhattan, Central Park and go shopping because I think that American's clothes are amazing!

Later, I want to go to Miami because there are amazing beaches and the weather is always sunny.

Then, I would to go in Nashville because in there was born country music and the fashion it's different,

After, I would to go to the state of California and visit Los Angeles (visit Hollywood boulevard), Hollywood (visit films productions), St Francisco.

Finally, I would like to go to the state of Nevada and go to Las Vegas!

CATWALK FASHION-REAL OR FANTASY?

Actually, in catwalk fashion there are a lot of strange clothes that nobody will wear on the street.Also if you aren't rich you can't buy these clothes.These clothes are exclusive for catwalk because I think that these clothes are more like an art exhibition, are radical and some are obscene.Another problem is that these catwalk fashion shows use very thin models, and in very occasions, teenagers, become obssessed with being thin.

HUMANS CAN NOT LIVE WITHOUT BIODIVERSITY

A study by the UN "Global Perspective on Biodiversity" warned about the impact of human beings on Earth on basic resources such as water and food. According to the director of the study, humans can not live without biodiversity.

A quarter of the plant species may become extinct and increasingly shrinking are the tropical forests, the habitats of dust, etc..

The Secretary General of the UN said that biodiversity provides an effective  ecosystem  from which we get food and water.

If we do not act in time, we will be in danger.

The causes of biodiversity loss include climate change, pollution and overexploitation of resources.

THE LARGEST NATURAL DISASTER IN BRAZIL

The Brazilian president, Dilma Rousseff, decided on three days of mourning for the dead who were in the floods, that killed 600 people. Pope Benedict XVI announced that this was the largest natural disaster in the country's history.
Many Brazilians are remembering  the famous composer Tom Jobim, whose farm was destroyed in the flooding.
Jobim's grandson, Daniel says he saw his grandfather´s house destroyed and the homes of the farm´s employees. Daniel managed to escape in the family´s car but no one else did,  the other people were died and there was no rescue service that helped people.
This new has to do with natural disasters. This shows that we are not as prepared as we think, that nature is very strong and can cause disasters such as floods, earthquakes, etc., and many people can die because of them.

CLIMATE CHANGE HARMS THE ECONOMY

Climate change harms the economy. Every year we lose 1.6% of world GDP (1.2 billion per year) and in addition, about 400,000 people die each year.The countries that appear most affected are those developing countries that have an economy  focused in agriculture .Climate change increases malnutrition, poverty and diseases.It is expected that by 2030 it will lose 3.2% of global GDP due to air pollution. Less developed countries  a loss of 11%.The Prime Minister of Bangladesh said that if the temperature rises 1 degree, they lose 10% agriculture, 2% of GDP. If there were no such changes in temperature, the country could grow.Not only are developing countries affected, but countries such as the United States are also affected. It is believed that in 2030 its GDP will fall by 2%.

Climate change is an issue that affects us and after reading this story I knew it was more serious than I had believed. Not only is there pollution and increased temperatures, but also countries can no longer grow and the economy is lower.

Final reflection

I think that this year I learnt a lot of new vocabulary, for example: Disease, unfaithful, goosebumps, …  Also, I think that I can get better marks in english.

I recogize that I’m lazy but in this 3rd term I studied more than other terms and my blog was better than the 2nd term.

This year I miss to do activities in the language room, for example: watch a film, do a speaking, play board games,... I know that I'm in batxillerat but I think that it's a good system for learn English because we learn and we have a good time too. I think that it was a little boring to did exercice all the time and we sometimes are "disconnected" in class and after we didn't learn all the concepts.

The British team for rhythmic finished their attempt to be in the Olympics crying. They did not get the 44.950 points required for its Federation and the British Olympic Committee to represent their country. First the team were sad but then they decided to demand  of a court of Arbitration to fulfill its Olympic dream. They were successful! The Court of Arbitration for Sports has given the country its reason. England has never been strong  gymnastics. But in recent years, thanks to more dedication and training the British gymnastic teams have been more successful. Still they only finished 29^th in the world in the championships of 2010. Let us see what  Beth Tweddle, Daniel Purvis, Daniel Keating and Louis Smith can do this year in London Olympics .

NEWS: Crisis in Bankia

The State took the lead yesterday with Bank Savings Financial and its subsidiary Bankia-which has  45% of capital through the Bank Restructuring Fund (FROB). FROB is how the   Government and the Bank of Spain want to restructure the financial area. This fund was the holder of a loan of 4.465 million euros to BPA is now transformed into capital at the request of the institution itself, which acknowledges its inability to repay the money. My birthday

On the 19th of April I had my birthday- I was 17 years old. On the morning of the 21^st I went to Roses to my boyfriend´s house to celebrate with his family. I stayed for lunch and they bought me a fantastic chocolate dessert with strawberries and cream.

In the afternoon my boyfriend took me to Castelló and I wanted to get ready with my friend Sara but she was not there so I got ready at home. At 9 0´clock we went to the Sala municipal to watch  Barça- Madrid play football. After we went to Figueres to a restaurant.

Sara called my boyfriend to tell him he had left his wallet at her house, so we went to her house to collect it. Sara´s mother told us to go to the garage to collect the wallet. When we went in to the garage my friends and my mother had organized a surprise party for me there. After a great party we went to Sikim.

It was an amazing birthday!

Camping!

At Easter I went camping with my friends.
We went for two nights and three days in Llançà, a campsite near the beach.

The first day we got up early to go and buy food and later in the morning we went to the campsite. Once we arrived we set up and the others went to make the lunch.
After lunch, we went to the village and we spent the afternoon in a park for exercise and played football.
Towards evening, we returned to the campsite to make dinner, the boys went because they  wanted to meet girls but they did not .

The second day we went to the supermarket  in Llança to buy food that we needed,some stayed at the campsite.
Once we were all in the campsite, we heard a man shouting and singing, it seemed that he was crazy.
That night (the last) man began to follow Elsa around the campsite. From that time we began to fear.

The third day, when we awoke, we needed to eat but there was no food! We thought it was the man that took it as all the time he was where our tents were.

3rd BIRTHDAY OF MIDNIGHT

Last 7th of April I went to Millenium (a disco in Girona) because it was the “3rd bithday of Midnight.”
It was one of my favourite nights, it was awesome! A lot of DJ's came and there were a lot of people. 
 First, Luka Caro introduced the song “The Black Pearl” (remix of Piratas del Caribe) and after Tom Boxer and Morena sang their hit “Deep in love”. After that, Luka Caro presents his new hit “Running Away”. After a while, Marsal Ventura put “Levantala” a new hit too. In total, this night there were 11 Dj's. 
 When I think about the night I get “goosebumps” because the night was amazing and I had a very good night with my best friends, my boyfriend and his friends. 
I really want to go another midnight because in my opinion it is the best party.

Introduction

Hello, we are Sara, Marina and Aida and our project is about Education in South Korea. We decided to do this project when we saw a documental about their life and we thought that it could be interesting.

How is student life

In South Korea education is very important. The students think that if they study a lot, when they become adults they will have a very good job. Their education is concentrated only in studying all the time.

There are children that while they’re sleeping, their parents put on a CD of different lessons, so that the children learn a little bit more while they fall asleep.

The children are surprised when they see that the European students play more than study, because they don’t ever play.

The adolescents think that they have got more pressure when they think about their future.  

Discipline

When the children are little they do military service to behave better in the school and to get more discipline. They do this military service because it helps them for the access exams to go to university.

How many hours they study?

South Korean students study around 19 hours a day, between public school and private classes. They start their classes at 7.30 am and they finish them at 6.pm. After that they do a lot of private classes and they finish all at approximately 1.00 am. They only sleep 5 hours at day. The parents of the students think that time is gold and they have to study all the hours possible.

What is better, private school or public school?

The South Korean mothers think that in public schools their children don't learn and so that they have got a good future, they have to sleep only 5 hours at day. The adolescents study around 50 and 70 hours a week, between in public school and private classes.

Private classes

The students are obsessed with private classes. The parents pay around 3.500€ every month for them. They think that education is the most important expenditure. Only one class cost 1000€.

The job of the majority of South Koreans is do private classes.

Pro’s

70 years ago, 7 of 10 people were illiterate and the society decided to make a change and now there aren't many illiterate people. Thanks to that, South Korea is the 13^th strongest country in the world
The South Koreans are 3rd in maths, 2nd in reading, 4th in science and 1st in resolution of mathematics problems.

Consequences

The adolescents suffer more from schooling; for example, depression stress and sleep disorders. Every month there are 1000 people in treatment. These people have attempted suicide a lot of times because they think that education manipulates them. When they tell to their family and their friends that they don't like study, they suffer bullying. They become mentally ill.

According to a study, in 2009, 202 South Korean students of primary, secondary and university committed suicide. Double than the year before.

Conclusion

On the one hand, we are disappointed with this system education because the children don’t have time to enjoy and they lost all their childhood. They only study all day and don’t relate to each other because they never have time.

On the other hand, we think that their education is better than our education and they are more intelligent than us because they study more time. 

My perfect day

My perfect day is to travel to New York with an empty suitcase and go shopping untill the suitcase is full.
I would like to buy in shops like Victoria's Secret, Macys, Bloomingdales, Tiffanys,...
After, I would like to travel to Paris with another empty suitcase and start shopping again!
I will visit all the shops on The Champs Elysée. When I am tired, I will have one drink at the top of the Eiffel Tower and go home with all my clothes!

NEWS: Violence in Valencia

Students from Lluis Vives High school in Valencia stopped traffic when they protested against The Valencian Education Authority. They protested because they had no heating in their classrooms. The students were attacked by the police.

They protested again against the police violence against children younger than 18.

Paris, the city of love

One of places I would like to travel with my boyfriend is Paris.
I think that Paris is the most romantic city in the world and I would like to up in Eiffel Tower at night with him. I would like to go shopping in the champs elisees and buy a lot of clothes too.
The last day I would like to go to Disneyland to have a good time.
